In 1989.....

Twenty-four years ago, I became a grandmother.  Sue had a C-section in Puyallup and was "under" so I was the first person in our family to lay eyes on that baby girl.  And let me say...it was my first time seeing a C-section up close and it gave me the heebie jeebies.  Ha Ha

I was out in the backyard planting the two packages of flower seeds I bought and as I put 3 or 4 rows in my raised garden bed (sunflowers) I heard and saw the pigeons discussing my work as they watched from a nearby wire.  Now I'm gonna have to keep an eye out to make sure they don't dig in and eat my seeds.  I planted the alyssums in a few pots on the porch so we'll see what develops there.

Noticed traffic in my alley while I was out there so that told me a yard sale had to be in process down the block a ways.  Couldn't let a sale that close go unheeded. I spent $6.

I drove down to the local grocery store to pick up some postcard stamps (and a mega ticket--just because) and now I'm back at the laptop eager to get going on my book editing. I had a real good time with it yesterday and it's neat to see its progression.

And here comes one of my quail buddies. Two of them have taken to coming right up to my sliding glass door to look inside.

I'm reading the best book right now!  'See you in a hundred years' by Logan Ward.  A true story of this couple who decided to spend a year as if it was 1900.  Fascinating.  Even the fact that he's aware of the modern day music that keeps playing in his head as he hoes the garden.  No matter how hard he tries, he can't shake the tunes.  It's a real life Little House on the Prairie type story and I find it interesting that I'm even interested.  I couldn't attempt to try my hand at that life now (my body just couldn't take it) and I'm sure if I was younger, I'd have no inclination to want to try and live like that. I lived with a man who had goats for a couple years or so. Lots of goats.  They didn't interest me at all. Funny thing is....now I'm thinking that life might appeal to me.  Odd how life works.

I'm all talk, though. The grass always looks greener on the other side.  I don't even have a dog (and I think I'd like one) but I hold off knowing it's probably more responsibility and cost than I want to deal with.

It's coming up on noon so I think I'll make myself a sammich.  Bought some deli turkey and ham (and cheese) yesterday so I'm looking forward to something yummy besides peanut butter and jam.  And since it's her birthday, here's a collection of my favorite Catie pictures through the years.

It's gonna be a good day (I hope)

It's 6 a.m. and I've been up for an hour.  Not because I wanted to get up that early but I guess God felt I needed a reminder that I'm gettin' on in years and I have certain health habits I need to keep current. So easy for me to let things go by the wayside.

I'm speaking, of course, of those delightful cramps in the calf that come on with a vengeance, often interrupting an interesting dream.  Heaven only knows what goes on in my dreams that I don't recall. I probably wouldn't have recalled this one if I hadn't been awakened so nastily.  I was back at the mill. No big shock there. I'm often walking the halls of the office or wandering around the parking lot.  My cramp came on as I was walking swiftly down the hall and I remember yelling "help me!"  No one was coming to my rescue and finally I woke up enough to realize I had to help myself and get out of bed!  Grrrrr...  I should have expected something was in the works because of the toe cramps I've been bothered with all week.

I'm now back to drinking more water, eating a banana daily, and taking a magnesium twice a day.  I'm also back to drinking a glass of water with a tablespoon of apple vinegar in it.  Some days I don't take my vitamins at all.  That'll teach me!

Made a "to-do" list before hitting the sack last night.  Probably a dozen items on it but they're all relatively quick and easy as I got all the physical stuff done yesterday -- changed drapes, rearranged furniture, cleaned toilets, vacuumed, etc.  Lookin' like rain again but I still think I'll go outside and plant some flower seeds.  Will probably need to spray the trees for caterpillars too.

Watched a Netflix movie last night called Jolene. A 2008 flick starring Jessica Chastain.  Man, what a depressing story line.  Came from a book by E.L. Doctorow.  Still good, though.

Well, gotta make some postcards now and think I'll head outside to see how many caterpillars I get to put to death.

Was going through old pictures yesterday (trying to decide on one for the cover of my book) and came across this old one of the Methodist Church on Taylor and Clay.  Fascinating.
And here's a very interesting video I just got from Linda Farina in Tennessee..

Just plowing along.....

It's 1 p.m. and while I managed to get quite a bit done today, every single chore was a real effort. When my back is out, (which is what I "guess" is going on) being on my feet for extended periods of time is just "out of my network."  Ha!

I managed to wash sheets and remake the bed, clean toilets, unload the dishwasher, take out the trash, wash a sink full of dishes, and run three errands.  That was a lot considering my discomfort this week.  I also squirted my fruit trees with caterpillar killer.  I thought one of the trees was cherry and not plum but Hunter informed me that baby plums look like that.  So nice to have a kid around who's wise about so many things.  Both trees get more caterpillars every day and I keep spraying and knocking them off. Be glad when the season passes.  I love my little trees.

I've been "googling" and "binging" about my tongue issue but I couldn't find much except "possibilities" of what is causing the burned feeling.  Lots of people out there suffering with the same thing and that was comforting somehow.  I did go buy some Vit B12 as some thought that was needed.  Other possibilities were hormones, food or mouthwash or toothpaste allergies, and the usual.....age.  Oh yeah, cancer too.  You know cancer has to stick his stupid nose in everything these days.  I had the dentist check my mouth out and he said he couldn't find any oral problems.

It's a damn nuisance more than anything.  I'll just keep drinking water and hope it eases.  It did disappear for a while but it returned. Haven't been able to pinpoint why. Could be thrush or a yeast infection but I don't have a weird looking tongue or any of the other symptoms for that.  I'll tolerate it a while longer, although I don't know that going to the doctor will help as the people writing online tried all those avenues.

I spent a while editing my book yesterday. Played around with cover ideas but haven't settled on a picture I want yet.  I'm kind of teaching myself as I go how to edit on smaller size paper and insert photos.  It's exasperating sometimes but it should be worth it in the end.

Went to Goodwill and picked up a set of curtains for the living room. I need something besides see-thru lace during the summer afternoons when the sun shines.  I like having my venetian blinds up so I can see out into the back yard but I don't like to pull them up and down everyday as I notice the cord is wearing thin up by the top.  Not sure what I'll do if the cord breaks.  Have to get new blinds, I guess -- or just leave them down all the time.

Met Sue there so I could give her the reprints I made for her of her high school reunion.  She ID'd more of the people for me so I'll have to go on Facebook and tag those I remember.  Picked up a couple packages of flower seeds at Walgreens while I was there.  Think I'll plant some sun flowers.
Stopped by Subway to get a footlong for lunch.  So good.  I'm saving the second half for tomorrow.

Hunter and his dad sometimes go bike riding or hiking on the weekend.  He sent me some pictures he took with his phone and sent to my phone. I had to have him teach me how to get them off my phone and onto my laptop and I was happy it was easier than I figured it was going to be.  They were near an old railroad underpass by Lake Crescent. Pictures below.....

And here comes the rain again. Think I'll pull out the step stool and see about hanging some curtains.

Still wet outside

For your listening pleasure....here's a guy who could really really sing.  One of my favorite stories is how my sister-in-law, Rosemary, (also a fan) gave him a kiss on the cheek one day when she hung around after a concert hoping to see him.  Rosy could always get away with stuff like that.  hee hee

And now the local news stations will run the same story over and over for months about the bridge collapsing.  Complete waste of air time to remind us day in and day out that they were  there to film the action.  Well, that's their job!  Of course they'd be there.

Yesterday, one of the morning news shows ran a clip about wild elephants being driven back by trained elephants because they were destroying villages.  They also showed kids taunting the elephants and ran a quick interview with a guy talking about the elephants territory being threatened. I wanted to hear more but alas....it was off to more boring stuff here in the states. I'm going to have to research that story again.  I'd much rather hear about animals and nature than Jodi Arias, OJ Simpson, Michael Jackson, and any number of other singers, actors, athletes, or politicians behaving badly.

I turned off the tv early  this morning. Have got KIXI 880 a.m. radio coming in on my Roku.  The tv lineup shows nothing of interest all day or evening so I'm stopping at Red Box to pick up a Barbra Streisand movie my daughter says is entertaining.

Saw this picture on Facebook yesterday of my granddaughter and her two half sisters in Utah. Catie is on the left, Carol in the middle, and Audrey, who is getting married this week.

I spent the whole weekend working on my ex-husband's family tree. Figured the kids would be interested in it someday. So far, nobody much cares, but they will in time.  Always fun to find little tidbits about other families and there was a lot of info out there on the Ambroses and Baldridges. I found one census listing for one of the family members living in  the "Little House on the Prairie" neighborhood.  When I tried to find it a second time, though, I never could come up with it. Maybe I'll hunt again today.

June 1st is creeping up. The twins will be out of school on June 14th and come September, they'll be 8th graders.  How'd that happen?  I don't have a thing planned this week but will head into PT on June 8th and to Tacoma on June 30th.

Well, nuts! I just had to mute KIXI. For some reason they insist on replaying Dave Letterman's monologs.  I'm not a fan and never have been.  Never thought Johnny Carson was all that great either. Also think Bob Hope and Bill Cosby were overrated.  There are a lot out there, though, that make me laugh every time --Jerry Seinfeld, Steve Martin, Jonathan Winters, Cheech Marin, Jon Stewart, Chris Rock, Billy Crystal, Don Rickles, Groucho Marx, Jack Benny, and Larry David.

Well, better get moving. Which means get busy on the laptop schedule. Gonna work on editing my next book, but I do need to hunt around for a few more Blankenship genealogy notes.

Still raining.....

It's coming down pretty steady but again, doesn't bother me one bit. Doesn't bother my pansies either as they've taken off overnight.

I spent most of the day working on genealogy, and finally found all the little clues I was hunting for to see if my ex-husband and I shared a common relative.  We did. Half brothers named John and Michael Skaggs. One led to his grandmother and mom; the other led to the sister of my grandmother. Small world.

I watched two Netflix movies last night.  Edison Force (2005) only got a 5.2 rating but I would have rated it higher.  Starred Morgan Freeman, Kevin Stacey, Dylan McDermott, and Justine Timberlake.  The other movie was a documentary from 2008 called Food Matters.  The most interesting part was their presentation on how vitamins (and the right food groups) can nip cancer in the bud.  Fascinating.

Right now I've got a Turner Classic movie on called The Sea Chase.  1955 starring John Wayne, Lana Turner, Tab Hunter, James Arness, and Claude Akins, among others.  I'm getting quite a kick out of the dated techniques.  Like John Wayne kissing Lana. It looks like he's got her in a tight bear hug and all you can see is his back.  Her blond hair never loses a curl or is out of place. (and the whole movie takes place on a ship at sea) Wayne towers over all the other men in certain scenes (except Arness) who is the same height.  Even the scene where a sailor is attacked by a shark gave me a chuckle.  Especially when Tab Hunter dived into the water to go rescue him.  The way he was brought into a lifeboat was obviously staged too.  All in all, though, it was great fun.

I did manage to pull myself away from the computer long enough to sew up the five pillows I intend to gift out.  I also made a pan of brownies. (my own special cure for cancer)

Happy Birthday to my son-in-law, Andy! (He's the one who's not blue)

Ahhh...a fun day planned

Nope!  Not going anywhere or doing anything special. Just lookin' forward to a day inside working on projects.  I ran my two errands and am pleased to be homebound the rest of the holiday weekend.
Returned a movie to Red Box (Hope Springs) with Meryl and Tommy Lee Jones.  Pretty good flick but definitely would probably only interest people in my age group.

Albertsons (where the one of three PA red boxes are) is near the library so I decided to stop in there to browse.  Had recently updated my "Books I want to read" list and checked them out online to see if they were available.  A couple were.  I ended up getting a variety of titles...The Kon-Tiki Expedition, for one.  It's full of pictures and I chose it because the regular book was out.  Also got The Murder Notebook by Jonathan Santlofer, What comes after Crazy by Sandi Shelton, User ID by Jenefer Shute, A Little House Sampler by Laura Ingalls Wilder, and the two on my "list".....Do not deny me by Jean Thompson and See you in a Hundred Years by Logan Ward.

Am all settled in now.  My second cup of coffee kept getting cold so I threw in some ice cubes to make iced coffee. I'll sip that for the next hour.  Need to check on the Skaggs name in genealogy. One of  my grandmother's sisters married a Skaggs and it was an uncommon enough name to catch my interest when I saw it in my ex husband's genealogy list of relatives. Gonna go see if they're related.

The sun, the birds, and computers

That sunny weather is tempting me to pull out my shower stool and go outside to sit and weed a little here and there.  Even if I just get one tiny corner done, the satisfaction is immense. My low back has been killing me the last few days. Suspect it might have been the heavy lawn mowing I did (before I figured out how to heighten the machine for an easier push).  I've had periods of electric-like zingers when I walk or sit a certain way. I've put up with it off and on for years, figuring it was something I did physically (like rearranging furniture)  and that I was out of whack.  Used to go to the chiropractor when the condition lasted more than a week or two. I'm not going to the chiropractor, though.  My last few trips there  amounted to less than five minutes in and out the door with little or no dialog discussing  why I was there in the first place.  I have a book showing floor exercises I can do and I'd probably get more success from my own healing methods.

Yesterday I noticed the birds were more active than usual. They were swooping here and there and a couple even hit my window.  When I left in my car, I noticed more birds all up and down the street swooping and carrying on.  Maybe it's the mating season.
Since I have Google at my fingertips, I decided to see what other people thought this bird swooping meant.  One (off the wall) website showed these comments......

Why do birds fly in front of cars?

To get at the easy pickings of roadkilled insects. Inevitably, this will sometimes lead them to swoop down in front of oncoming cars, necessitating some fancy flying to avoid becoming fowl-puree.

To get to the other side (fly to the light!)

I think it’s to take advantage of the wind currents created by the car's movement. Rabbits, on the other hand, I know about. They run out in front of cars because they think it’s a fun game. I used to live on a winding mountain road and you could see the rabbits waiting in the bushes for a car to come. They'd leap out right in front of you and race across the road and then I swear they'd stop and wait for the next car.

If they walked they'd get runned over.
They were secret agents in a past life and wanted to feel the thrill of a chase again.
Why do cars drive into the birds' flight paths?

When I took my car in for an oil change yesterday, I was surprised to see Mary Gaboury's sister, Teresa, there with her husband.

She was getting an oil change too.  She told me that  she didn't know how to use a lot of her car's features....like the GPS. A lady salesman told her to come in sometime and she'd spend an hour teaching her everything the car could do.

I had to chuckle when Teresa was explaining how she tried to teach herself but the "typewriter on the screen" wouldn't come up.  A dead giveaway that she doesn't own a computer. I told her the typewriter is now called a keyboard, and that when I first started learning on the computer, my language also  reflected the machines I was used to. I called the monitor a TV screen.

That got me to wondering about how many Americans are not on-line. I edited down this article....

The F.C.C. said that a third of Americans -- some 93 million people -- do not have broadband access to the Internet at home. These include people who are not comfortable with computers or, are worried about all the bad things that can happen if they use the Internet.

19 percent say the Internet is a waste of time. The study found that just over half of those who don't have broadband access at home would be willing to pay $25, with the other half either not sure what they'd pay or not willing to pay anything. Of those who don't have broadband, 80 percent do have cable or digital satellite television.

That's a sign of a shocking and troubling misunderstanding about the uses of the Internet. 65% say there is too much pornography and offensive material on the Internet, and 46 % believe it's too dangerous for children. They may have computers or access through work or at a friend's house, but few of them feel confident in their abilities to use -- or even to find use from -- the Internet. This means that 35 % of Americans need not just physical cables and financial assistance to get online; they also need education in the ways and means of the Internet. Two groups are especially disconnected – older Americans and lower-income Americans.

I'm not just talking about a weekend seminar in "how to avoid Nigerian Princes." I'm talking about classes that aim at digital literacy, that teach users not just how to find information but also how to discern where the content comes from. Imagine arming the population with enough information to avoid scams. Imagine more Americans beginning to understand why Wikipedia is a great leaping-off point for finding information, but not a conclusive research source. Imagine teaching people that, with the Internet, they are able -- that they are empowered -- to ask questions and find their own answers. Who doesn't need that class?

Amen to that!  Every single day I pretty much come upon something on the computer that is either scaring me half to death or pissing me off!  Sometimes I can research it and figure it out, but more often than not, the explanation and the solution to fix it are way over my head!  Yesterday, for example, a message popped up telling me somebody else had my IP address and here's what I needed to do.... blah blah blah.  I printed off a page of instructions and will study it later when I'm rested.  Ha!

Dryer just turned off so time to fold clothes and then jump into genealogy and book editing.  Have a fun Memorial Day Weekend.

Looks like another gray day

Back deck was pretty wet looking this morning so I guess the rains are continuing.  I did get outside to cut the second half of the back lawn during a sunny spell.  Gonna run across town this afternoon for car maintenance and will probably stop at Wal-mart to pick up a few items.

Oh, ick! The Today Show just ran a piece on the cicadas on the east coast. The apparently come out of hibernation below ground every 15 years.  They mate and then die off while their eggs lay dormant underground again for another 15  years.  What a life!

Watched a fun movie last night.  The Outfit from 1973.  Fun to see all the old cars, people smoking, and always having to go to a phone booth to make a call. Starred Robert Duvall, Joe Don Baker, and
Karen Black. Hard to believe that Duvall is 82 years old now.

I've got half a dozen solar lights on my deck and just love to see them when the night is dark. This picture doesn't do them justice, though.

Well, I had to turn off the news again.  Earlier than usual today.  Am so sick of stories about companies cheating people, people killing other people, mother nature killing people, and really stupid people around the world who are determined to kill as many people as they can.  Why can't we just get along?  Yeah, like that's gonna happen.

Guess I'll get going on ancestry now.  Here's another PT picture from Mike McAndrew's collection.

And here's that Derek Hough & Kelly Pickler dance they performed in their final presentation.  Everyone was moved.  Move the play button over to 2:22 minutes to see the start of the dance.

And while I'm at it, here's the Alfred Hitchcock Psycho routine Derek did with Ricki Lake two years ago. FF the play button to about 1:30 to see the start. It's fabulous!

May 1961

Just dropped the twins off at junior high and made a quick Safeway run.  My groceries cost more than I thought they would.  Spent abut $30 and easily carried my bag out the door.  I looked over my receipt when I got into the car and realized the few things I bought were pricey.  Maple syrup, honey, grape nuts, all bran, and a big bag of frozen berries.  Was surprised how expensive honey was.  I want to make some bran muffins, though, and my recipe calls for it.

I morning-surfed over Facebook to see what was there, and was delighted to see this photograph Mike McAndrew took that Lois Venarchick shared.  I went to his page to see more.  Fabulous stuff of Port Townsend scenes....like this one of San Juan Grocery. Go look at them. They're wonderful!

I'm taking the car in for an oil change tomorrow afternoon.  Free where I bought it across town. I've had the car for 11 months and have only put on 4800 miles.  I don't travel much.

Looked over this trivia website I refer to sometimes and put in today's date with a 1961 search. Gas was 31 cents a gallon; stamps were 4 cents, and a loaf of bread was 21 cents.

I decided to switch back to my Iphone yesterday instead of my flip phone. I prefer talking on it with the speaker and people were having a hard time hearing me because of an echo.  Now I have to relearn how to use it again.  My ring is 'The Lion Sleeps Tonight.'  That was one of the top songs in 1961.

Watched Dancing with the Stars last night.  Was pleased that Derek Hough and Kelly Pickler won. They certainly deserved it. I could watch Derek dance all day long and Kelly is quite good as well. My favorite was the one they did Monday night. As soon as it's up on YouTube, I'll post it. Meanwhile, here's another... (you have to FF through two minutes to get to the good stuff.)

Spent most of yesterday working on genealogy again.  I think I'm getting closer to figuring out how I want to put my information together.  The first draft was kind of "all over the place" with census lists but now I'm going to TRY and make individual bios of various people and just write about them in my own words, following what and where the census took them.  Irritates me that I can't get to the 1950, 1960, and 1970 census.  When I get to run the world, I'm changing that system!

I'm lookin' out on blue skies right now. I wonder if that means the lawn will dry out.  I need to get the second half of the backyard cut but.....if I don't, I don't.  There's always another day.  Here's another of Mike McAndrew's photos that fascinated me.  Washington Street view which I know well but barely recognize from this angle. I would LOVE to be able to wander Jefferson County (mainly Port Townsend) and take photos with a really good camera.

Yellow Doesn't make me Mellow

It's 9:30 a.m. and I've been up for 3-1/2 hours already.  I've tossed and turned for two nights trying to see if I would sleep better on a firm mattress.  Have decided this old body of mine prefers the memory foam to drift off into dreamland.  Pulled it out of the closet and put it back on the bed. Am already looking forward to bedtime tonight.

Fixed some scrambled eggs, toasted bagel, V8 juice and coffee for breakfast and then sat down to begin my morning office work. Sent off three postcards and two letters, deleted a ton of pictures on Facebook, updated my address list (amazing how quickly they become outdated), and went through Susan's reunion pictures to make a reprint order at Walgreens for her.

Sat here looking out the window at the yellow scotch broom as it continues to grow and grow and grow. I even walked up the street and around the corner to take some shots showing out it's taken over the neighborhood.
This is from my front window. I got the lawn cut yesterday and it looks sooooo much better.
See those tire marks on the street? I can't figure out why anybody would go into that little trail area but whoever is doing it, continues.  With my suspicious nature, I sometimes wonder if it isn't a drug deal going down. Perhaps I watch too much tv...or perhaps not.
This is the short alley/trail. Doesn't go anywhere except the other alley that runs down along all the houses on the street.
This is M and if I follow it up and around, it takes me over to the fairgrounds, airport, and Jenni's house.  More scotch broom all the way.
This is M looking in the other direction. I walked down to look in the field beyond and it's full of the yellow stuff too.

This is the view from my back deck across the neighbor's yard.  I'm surrounded by it.

When I noticed caterpillars taking over my two little trees a couple weeks back, I took action right away. They seem to be doing okay. Unfortunately, the neighbor's cherry tree just over my fence didn't fare as well.  They aren't home often and I don't think they were even aware the nests were there.  Here's before and after....

And here's a picture of a tire on the truck parked next door.  I happened to notice how large it was when I was outside walking up the street.  I'll take a photo of anything for my blog these days. It actually looks much bigger in person.
My pansies on the back deck are looking pretty healthy so I moved one pot to the front porch. Course I'm so paranoid about the deer coming in at night, I have to go out and move them closer to my front door before I go to bed.  Sounds silly, I suppose, but I don't grow pretty flowers that well and if I get any, I'm keeping them as long as I can.

I went on a blind date Saturday night. Yeah, I thought that would raise some interest.  Hang on, though, it was just to meet a new lady friend.  Jenni has a friend whose mom has just moved here from Idaho and they both decided we needed to meet.  It's not easy to meet new people these days. Course it would be easier if I made an attempt to get out and about and get involved in something. Mary Alice is three years younger than me and we have a lot in common.  She's into volunteering now and then so maybe she'll motivate me to get off my butt and do the same.

Meanwhile, I'm continuing to occupy myself with more than enough activities around the house. Mary's son-in-law (a computer guy) was able to help me figure out how to number pages when the paper is mirror framed for a book.  I was having a heck of a time with the help columns.  I'm having a lot of fun editing Town Kid and What Do You Say.  It'll keep me busy for weeks.  Still hunting around to try and figure out the best way to get it printed.

I think I'll just order 5 dozen books to start.  So hard to tell if your book will generate enough interest. I'm fairly certain, though, that I could get 60 books sold.  All I want to do is sell enough to get back my printing costs yet still keep the book at a low price.  Since I'm including all the comments people posted online, I'm hoping at least those people might buy a book.

Genealogy searching continues as well.  My cousin, Linda, in KY called the other day and said she was always told her grandpa (her mom's dad) was a professional hockey player.  I couldn't find anything to reflect that in the census rolls but his obit did say he spent ten years in Canada so maybe that's where he played hockey.  I contacted a friend who has an ancestry.com international subscription to see if she could find something for me.  My subscription only covers the U.S.

I let my oldest daughter, Sue, borrow my camera and car for the weekend so she could attend her 30th high school reunion in Port Townsend.  Since she doesn't have a computer, I posted the pictures on my Facebook page.  Here's a few...

Some of the group on their Sunday picnic at Cape George Community Club
Sue and Paul and Cindy Brown and her husband
My nephew, Eddie Forcier playing at Hilltop Tavern
Ken and Helen Brink, teachers, at the Bayview
Mary Gaboury, in town for Rhody, who stopped in to see who she could see

I did a lot of taping of tv shows yesterday.  Billboard Music Awards, Alaska shows, The Waltons.
I stayed up to watch Mad Men but I think that was my last show.  I've noticed the past few episodes have left me cold and last night's show was STUPID!  My list of shows that I'll tune is seems to be growing smaller each season.

Right now, I really like Call the Midwives and Doc Martin. And if I can find it on YouTube, I'll post the ONE THING that made me laugh out loud yesterday.  Here it is.
