And November begins...

Kind of nice out for a November day.  At least right now.  I broke down and bought some more bird seed yesterday as I miss seeing the birds coming around in the back yard.  I'll probably regret it once the pigeons realize there's seed out there again.  They're the only reason I quit in the first place.  They'd zoom in and the appointed one would land on the bird feeder flapping his wings until he shook out the desired portion of  seed to the ground.  They cleaned me out pretty quickly and bird seed isn't as cheap as it used to be.  There haven't been any birds yet but it usually takes them a little while.  I quit hanging the seed in the back corner of the yard because rats would climb the fence and help themselves.  First rat I see scurrying to the middle of the yard where I have it now will mean no more seed for me to buy.
Been watching the progress of the neighbor's house across the alley.  Some lady came three separate times to either clean it or paint it but she only did a little at a time and she hasn't been back so maybe it's gonna stay looking like that through the winter.

Granddaughter Catie got an early Christmas present from her Aunt Mary to get her hair done.  She posted before and after pictures on Facebook.  Plus she donated her hair.  So nice.

Here's a picture of Sammy, Jenni & Wayne's dog, after the kids decided he needed a crown.
And here's two of Jake in his Superman costume.  I love the one of him at daycare in his little highchair.

Went to the casino for Linda P's birthday yesterday.  Lew Morello, Liz & Craig Hausler, and Karen & Dick Jovag  ate at the fish and chips place, I think.  The rest of us went to the buffet (it was rotten as usual).  I hear they're discontinuing that whole restaurant/buffet soon. Not sure if machines are going in or another eating place.  Anything's better than the buffet.
This photo shows  in back: Patty Omeara, (Ruth's caregiver)Mary Norton, Joanne Gilles, Linda Pedersen, and me.
In front: Karen Jovag, Lauretta Thorne Scrafford, and Ruth Kvinsland.  Liz & Lew had already left and Joyce Lee Adams was in the bathroom.  (which I didn't realize until the picture taking was over)

Joyce and I left right after this photo shoot and we stopped at Sunny Farms to buy a few items. I got apples and she got Dave's bread.  She said it's the only bread she likes so I stopped at Albertsons after dropping her at the college (she works in the kitchen) to try out some Dave's Bread myself.  It was on sale and I do like it a lot.  I got it for $3.99 but normally it's $5 a loaf.  Remember when bread was a quarter?  Sigh....

I didn't get any trick or treaters last night but I didn't want any either. Made the house dark to assure none would stop.  My street is kind of a dead end anyhow so I seldom see kids at Halloween.

This morning I pulled my exercise bike back to the living room from the back bedroom thinking it would motivate me to get on it more frequently.  We'll see.  A lot of the time I'm all talk when it comes to  exercise.

I'm reading two books right now.  The Fall of Giants by Ken Follett and The StarLite Drive-in by Marjorie Reynolds.  It's pretty good and I'm anxious to get back to it. That doesn't always happen when I pick up a book.

Loved this costume I saw on Good Morning America yesterday depicting the new royal baby coming.
Cleaned out the fridge this morning by throwing odds and ends into a pan for soup.  Boring but at least dinner is done.  Gotta change a couple calendars now and try to remember to change the clocks when I get up tomorrow morning.

Going to get some reading in, work on my jigsaw puzzle, bake some cookies, and research Holts on ancestry.com.  Tomorrow will be much the same thing, I suppose.  Bye for now.....
