Rainy and windy today

I don't really mind the cold fall weather outside my window today. I did venture out early as I needed to mail three books but traffic was light and I returned home quickly.  Stopped at Safeway to pick up a couple prescriptions but they weren't ready so that was irritating. Especially since they were called in yesterday.  I was too uncomfortable to sit around for 20 minutes so I'll go back later this week.

Got a flu shot yesterday and asked my doctor to culture my knee wound again; if for no other reason than to set my mind at ease about it. She didn't think it was infected but about one inch of the incision continues to bleed and won't close up.  Since I have to change the dressing twice a day, I'm sick of looking at it.  I also told her I couldn't understand why I was still not 100%.  She felt I was doing fine and I needed to be more patient but I still think I should be further along in my recovery than I am.

I saw a chiropractor four times for my upper arms/shoulders/neck pain but each time I felt worse afterwards, and now I have back pain to boot!  My physical therapy starts Monday morning and they'll be working on both my knee and my shoulders. I'm scheduled to go in three times a week through the month.  I think I'll cease going to the chiropractor.  I only wish I had connected my arm pain with the fall when it first started bothering me at the first of August.  I just had myself convinced that the pain was related to using a walker.

One of these days I'm going to have to revisit the dentist to see what he thinks I should do about my three front teeth that are dead. They don't hurt but it is weird not feeling them when you bite into something. I wonder if I'll end up having them pulled out and replaced with a partial plate.  I hope not.  I've spent enough on dental work already.  Still.... I can't see them coming back to life on their own any time soon.  I'm putting that problem on the back burner for now.  I need to get the strength back in my arms so I can carry on with normal activities.

Got a letter from Mary  Gaboury this morning telling me they missed being on The Price is Right by 15 minutes but they did get on Let's Make a Deal.  They weren't picked as contestants and will find out later when their show airs. Might be a couple months or more.   I had emailed Dave Marriott yesterday that the street he lives on on Queen Anne Hill in Seattle was mentioned in a murder mystery I'm reading by J.A. Jance.  She's a local author. Dave wrote me that he actually knew her.  Years ago, her son was in his scout troop.

Well, I guess I'll retire to my recliner now.  I have a  1000-piece jigsaw puzzle set up on the kitchen table so I'll play around with that all week too.  Lights have flickered a few times today so I imagine we could lose power at some point.  Went to the casino on Wednesday and forgot to take a picture!  I'm losing it.
