Feeling Better (I think)

Came down with a flu bug this week.  I thought I was ailing the last few days because I was so tired and listless.  Tummy was upset too.  Finally hit with a bang Tuesday night and spent hours throwing up and well...you know....the other part!  Throwing up was causing me distress because the straining was causing cramps in my lower gut.  Nothing quite so wretched as what I assume could be a hernia in the making.  Probably been one there for some time but I try to ignore as much as I can from the shoulders to the knees.  Sigh...

I also have (and still have) an earache.  I do hate earaches!  I put some hydrogen peroxide in last night and rinsed out with warm water this morning thinking perhaps it was accumulated wax causing the problem.  Didn't really see much wax coming out, however, and the ear still gives me a shooting pain now and again.  Thought about going to the doctor but I have an appt. on Monday at 9:30 to discuss my latest lab work so I think I'll try and hold out until then.  I hate going to the doctor's office.

I've been monkeying around with my new camera but I don't understand the settings and I can't get the neck strap attached. Drives me crazy. Joy Bland (an experienced and really good photographer) offered to help me so I'm going to have to drive over to the Egg & I Road as soon as I feel better so I can get some lessons.

Here's some I took this morning......
A couple of hummingbirds frequent my hanging nectar feeders
Bought myself an orange windmill at Big Lots the other day as the one on the left was getting ripped up by the wind.

My camera (another Canon) is similar to my old one. Just has more settings and memory, etc.  Didnt' come with a case, however, so I went to the thrift store and picked up this little handbag with a long handle. Only cost $4 and I think it will work just dandy.

Sue came by on Mothers Day to plant some dahlia bulbs for me and I had her help me move one of my recliners into the master bedroom. The flat screen TV in there (a gift from Catie) is digital and somehow manages to pick up cable stations that I can't get on my regular cable subscription in the living room.  Decided I would be more apt to sit in there and watch tv if I had a chair so even though, it's not arranged all that great, it's good enough for me.

Channels that I can now pick up include AMC, Root Sports, Animal Planet, Hallmark, 2 cartoon stations, 2 Spanish, a cooking channel, and GET and THIS TV. Plus a couple others I think. Only drawback is the remote lets me change channels but will not let me turn on or off the set so I have to disconnect from the wall. But I can live with that.

Drove over to the casino on Monday for lunch with the girls (and John O'Brien) who rode his bike from Sequim where his truck was parked in an RV park.
Mary and Andy are taking the twins (and Jake, of course) to San Diego this July instead of on the usual camping trip they take.  Going to be so much fun for them. Here's the place Mary booked to stay.
Andy found a picture of their house online and Mary sent it to me asking if that was my car parked out front.  Yep!  I can tell because of the orange rear view mirror thingie Hunter made for me so I can always find my car in a crowd.  Amazing how many white cars are in a parking lot when you come out of a store.
Well, I hooked up my old computer and scanner this morning as I plan on copying old newspaper articles and pictures to my hard drive.  Was kind of surprised at just how much stuff I had that needed to be saved electronically.  Even found some old wedding photos in a wedding book. Here's Mary Gaboury catching my bridal bouquet.  Two women in the background are no longer with us...Sharon Lindsey and my friend, Loraine, from Portland.
