Jakes comes to Gramma's House

Mary and Jake arrived on Friday and stayed until yesterday around noonish.  Was so much fun to watch him in action.  And yes, so very tiring too!  He's 16-months and busy busy busy.  After they left and I was putting my house and yard back together, I couldn't find my small remote control for the tv in this room.  After searching high and low I decided to think like a kid and WA-LAA!  Found it nestled inside my VCR where you stick the tape in to record or play.  I thought it was interesting that he even thought of such a thing. Probably watched Andy or Mary and decided that was where it belonged. Ha!

Mary brought his port-a-bed and she put it in the back spare bedroom (my sewing room). Because she puts this sleeping bag with arms on him to sleep, he isn't able to climb out but once he outgrows that bag, it'll be another story.  I found it amusing to watch and listen to him over the monitor she set on the kitchen counter.  She can talk to him over it, as well, and he often performs "for the camera." Didn't take him long to figure out that's how she was seeing him.
Being outside is his favorite thing of all and Mary says she has quite a fight on her hands at home when she decides he's had too much sun or needs a nap.  My yard didn't really have much but I still think he was entertained. For one thing, Andy has NO dandelions and I have A LOT!  Jake seemed to like pulling on the puff balls.  He also enjoyed the bird baths which I had to empty because he would splash and get himself wet and then attempt to climb in.

Hunter and Maddie came over on different days to play with him and he LOVED Sammy.  I don't think Sammy was all that thrilled EXCEPT when Jake decided to share his meal with him.

He felt he needed to rearrange my book shelves.
Every night he gets a bath and a story before bed.

Sue came by for a while on Saturday so Mary could do her taxes.

I had to run a few errands this morning, plus fill the car up with gas.  This was my view at the Safeway pumps.

Tomorrow morning I'm driving me and Jenni to the Clearwater Casino so we can grab the shuttle bus to downtown Seattle. Ann Robson will pick us up and take us over to Swedish for Jenni's doctor appt.
So thankful she's willing to drive in from Issaquah to do that for us. Saves me a lot of stress.

Well, almost time for lunch. I've got some leftover Thai food to enjoy. Mary ordered take-out from a popular restaurant down the street from me. I've never been there but I've always noticed a lot of cars parked outside.  It was good too!

I set up a new jigsaw puzzle after Jake left so I'll probably work on that for the next week or two.  Also need to get back to researching on newspapers.com before my month subscription runs out. Not much on my agenda this week (after tomorrow's car trip that is) but I do have a lunch date on May 11th with the Port Townsend gang.

Here's my view from the window today....  I call it Neighborhood in bloom.

And now that I think about it, I've got some "tips" I planned to put on  my blog over time. I forget what they're tips on so I'll go look......  oh yeah...toilet cleaning. That's always interesting. Ha Ha

Sprinkle baking soda in toilet bowl. Follow with white vinegar. Let it sit & then scour with brush.
Pour a cola soft drink into bowl and let it sit. Flush and bowl will sparkle.
Sprinkle 1/3 C. Tang in bowl. Let sit for two hours and flush.
Mash a few Vit C tablets. Sprinkle powder in bowl and leave overnight.
To clean a mildew area: Dampen a cloth with lemon juice & sprinkle salt on it to wipe down the area
White  vinegar cleans soap scum

And here's something I saw on Facebook that made me laugh:
