Does anybody know this?

For whatever reason, my YouTube website is causing me grief.  Half the videos (I'm guessing at half) DO NOT HAVE a loudspeaker icon below the video so I can adjust the volume.  Has anybody else encountered this?  Every video that appears without that microphone/loudspeaker dohickey is mute and I have no way to UNMUTE it.  My speakers icon on the laptop (on the bottom right) indicate my  volume is where I want it but the YouTube videos are coming up silent.  At least the ones with no icon. (down where it shows how long the video is)  The only thing I can think of that is different is that I let Maddie download a program called Spotify (that plays music). Surely that's not related.

It's been a laid back lazy weekend so far.  I've managed to get some writing done, some quilt squares cut, some reading under my belt and I think that's about it.  I'm going to have to make something fun for dinner tomorrow. I've been eating on that pot of bean soup for three nights and I'm kinda getting tired of it.  I did fix an ear of corn tonight using that system from the video I posted a few weeks ago. Worked dandy too!  Just cook an ear (4 minutes per ear) in the microwave with the husk still on. Cut off the end, hold the stringy tail end and whoosh...out comes the corn on the cob with no silky strings.

I made a quick library run yesterday to get some books on tape.  So far, none of them are holding my interest.  Thought for sure Dean Koontz' book would but I'm just not into vampire type reading.  I'll have to go back to 'Angle of Repose' and see if I can't give it another chance.  I also checked out the 4th season of Six Feet Under.  I've already seen all these shows but it's still entertaining.  Well, most of the time.  It always fascinates me on who the writer chooses to kill off in the first three minutes of each episode.  I am getting bored with all the soft porn bedroom scenes, though.   I think I'd be more interested in watching them cook a meal in the kitchen.  All that panting and half naked bodies bores me to tears.

As gray and gloomy as it looks outside, I'd still rather have this weather than those heat spells a lot of the country is dealing with.  I feel soooo sorry for those folks and I'm mighty glad it's not happening here.

I've got about nine pages written on my autobiography now (and about 15 pictures inserted). Tomorrow I'll start on life at Kuhn Street. It's funny the things you find when you're digging for little details.  I discovered A.C. Coulter married my mother and her second husband in 1952 at the Justice of the Peace on Irondale Road. Loretta Cloud (George Cadero's mom) was one of the witnesses.
Here's one of the pictures I included regarding my time at the 22nd & Haines Street house.
My mother took a lot of pictures (all lost to me now) but I have a couple. This one of me, Janie, and Les she called "the three monkeys--See no evil, speak no evil, hear no evil."
Well, I've got to see about getting my next Town Kid blog posted so I guess I'll get to work on that.  Tomorrow my 'to-do list' includes cleaning out lots of clothes in my closet, and cleaning the hall closet shelves.  I can hardly wait.
