Monday runarounds

Had a 9:15 a.m. appt with the podiatrist today.  He recommended some special inserts and pads so I went to the pharmacy a few blocks away to pick up one package and drove downtown to the shoe store to pick up the other.  First item was $8, second was $48.  Back to the doctor so he could do his magic and insert everything where it needed to be inserted.  Got the wrong size of the expensive insert so back to the shoe store downtown.  He had told me another shoe store sold the item for $5 cheaper so I drove around the block twice trying to find that place and went in to buy the $40 item in my size.  Then back to the original shoe store to return the wrong size $48 insert. Back to the doctor and now I'm good to go.  Am praying this will do the trick so I can start walking again.

Have to make a run to Swain's in a while to pick up these shoes he suggested to use around the house at night when I want something more slipper-like.  Can't just put on floppy shoes anymore.

Went to see Extremely Close and Incredibly Loud yesterday with Tom Hanks and Sandra Bullock. I'll give it a C-.  Can't understand why it even got a nomination for best picture.  It was okay...but not Oscar quality.  I'm not giving up, though. I still want to see Moneyball and The Grey.

Did a little work on my jigsaw puzzle and my latest sewing project but that's about it.  I was thinking of rejoining Ancestery.com but I'm going to wait two months when the 1940 census becomes available.

My daughter, Mary, met up with "her gang" on Saturday and they spent the night at the Tulalip Casino. Mary hit $429 on a haunted house slot machine. Here's a picture they took in the bathroom.

Since I signed up for Netflix, I've been using my Roku gadget quite a bit this month. I started watching Glenn Close in 'Damages' and my oh my, am I ever hooked!  There are 39 episodes available and while I try to watch just one, I often get so involved, I watch two or three a night.

Well, gotta meet the kids at the bus stop so they can ride to Swains with me.

Happy Birthday to Jaci Heinbaugh Adams in California.
